Managing Workflows with Task Dependencies
Task dependencies allow you to establish relationships between tasks, ensuring work is done in the correct order.
What is a Dependency?
You can mark one task as 'blocking' another. This means the second task cannot be marked as complete until the first one is finished. This is useful for managing complex workflows.
How to Set a Dependency
- Open the task that is being blocked (the one that cannot start yet).
- In the task details, click on the 'Add Dependency' or 'Set Blocker' option.
- Search for and select the task that must be completed first (the blocking task).
- The dependency is now set. The blocked task will have a visual indicator, and you won't be able to complete it until the blocker is resolved.
Multiple Blockers
A single task can be blocked by multiple other tasks. All blocking tasks must be completed before the dependent task can be finished.
